Statement of Faith

Holiness unto the Lord

These are not just doctrines on paper — they are the convictions this house lives, prays, and worships by.

What We Believe

Holiness Unto the Lord

Lily of the Valley is a Church of God in Christ congregation — Pentecostal in experience, holiness in walk, and Christ-centered in everything. Here is the faith we confess and live.

01

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God — our final authority for faith and daily living.

02

One God, Three Persons

We believe in one God eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — Creator, Redeemer, and Comforter.

03

Salvation in Jesus Christ

We believe salvation comes by grace through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ — for whosoever will.

04

Sanctification & Holiness

We believe God calls His people to a set-apart life, made possible not by willpower but by the finished work of Christ and the indwelling Spirit.

05

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, empowering believers for witness, worship, and holy living — as on the Day of Pentecost.

06

Divine Healing

We believe God still heals — body, mind, and spirit — and we pray boldly and compassionately for the sick.

07

The Church & Ordinances

We believe in the Church as the family of God, observing baptism in water and the Lord's Supper as Christ commanded.

08

The Blessed Hope

We believe Jesus Christ is coming again — so we live ready, watchful, and busy about the Father's business.

Our COGIC Heritage

The Church of God in Christ was founded by Bishop Charles Harrison Mason, with roots in the holiness movement of the 1890s and organized in Memphis, Tennessee. From a small band of believers it has grown into one of the largest Pentecostal bodies in the world — a legacy of prayer, sanctified living, and Spirit-filled worship that Lily of the Valley carries forward in Bryan, Texas.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”— 1 Peter 3:15
